Northern Cyprus health services are good and there are good hospitals offering medical facilities.

Prices for medications can range from well below UK price to more than triple. 
 

In smaller towns and some villages there are clinics. Medical treatment in the hospitals is free of charge.

Many of the English-speaking doctors have their own private clinics, but medical treatment is not cheap, holiday insurance maybe necessary in this case.

The general rule when being exposed to strong sunlight is to use a good sun block lotion and try to avoid direct sunlight on the head. Take plenty of non-alcoholic drinks throughout the day, bottled water is readily availabe in shops and supermarkets.

Snake bites are rare but do occur and should the worst happen, cover the bite with a cloth. Apply a tourniquet above the bite if it is on a limb but not so tight as to cut the blood supply off. Seek medical attention immediately.

There is alwasy a pharmacy on duty at nights and during holidays in every big city in North Cypurs.
