Dialing Codes UK - North Cyprus

To dial the U.K. from the TRNC, you need to dial 0044 and omit 0 of the U.K. code.

To dial the TRNC from U.K., dial 0090 (392) for main line

or

for calling  mobiles 0090 (533) or (542) followed by the number required.

163 is the number for Telephone billing and faults repairing information. If you press “9” once you are connected, you will receive the recorded message in English.

Mobile phones are available on long term rental or pay-as-you-go. 

Sim Cards

Planning on staying in North Cyprus for a while or intend on making constant use of your phone it could be a good idea to purchase a local sim card which will let you use your phone locally.

The gsm provider from whom you purchased your phone may have locked your phone, this being the case you will not be able to swap sim cards unless you unlock the phone.

Internet

Internet E-mail services are available from the many Internet Cafés. For personal and business use Broadband is now widely available.

SKYPE

For those who spend long periods in the TRNC and who have a computer available to them, Skype is a popular way to phone overseas.  With many packages available Skype can save you a small fortune when phoning abroad.
