About the Water Supply inthe TRNC (North Cyprus)
North Cyprus faces Water Shortagesand Restrictions
As you would expect and no different to any other country that has a hot climate water is a precious commodity. At certain times the supply of mains water may be restricted; this will depend on your local Council.
Most properties have 3 ton water tanks but of course should you need a large storage capacity you can always install another tank.
It is not advisable to drink tap or well water unless it has been analyzed.
This year many local areas have experienced shortages of water. This has bought about problems when watering gardens or filling pools.
The rule is that water supplied by local councils should not to be used for such purposes.
Water required for the garden or swimming pool should be purchased from a local water supply company, which will be delivered to you by tanker.
Please Note: If you do use Council water for your pool or garden, please be warned you could risk facing a fine or even having your supply terminated.
