Electricity

In the TRNC (North Cyprus) Standard British rectangular 3-pinned plugs are used (5 amps or 13 amps) also some 2-pinned plugs exist.

You will find that most anti-mosquito machines are continental 2-pinned, so you will require an adaptor, don't worry these are easy to find in North Cyprus.  

Power Cuts

Be warned power cuts can occur quite often, although they have become less frequent of late and many people now own their own generators.

Paying your Electricity Bill

Make sure you pay your Electricity bill on time, should you leave it too long there is the chance of being cut off and in order to have your electric supply returned you may find you receive a fine. 

If you intend to leave your property unoccupied for a period of time, make arrangements with the Electricity Board or a friend to have the bills paid.

Pay your Electicity Bill at the bank or by arrangement

Dependent on your bank, you may also have the facility to make arrangement for the bank to pay your account.

In North Cyprus LPG gas for household use is available by bottle. Though should you require a larger supply for items such as central heating you can choose to have a larger tank installed in the grounds of your home, this of course may not be possible for people who live in apartments and many will buy larger sized torpedo bottles which will be stored on balconies outside the accomodation.
