Post, North Cyprus Postal System
Outgoing Mail
The outgoing postal system is reliable in North Cyprus.
Incoming Mail
Incoming mail must be suffixed “Mersin-10, Turkey” and not “Northern Cyprus”.
Postage Stamps
Stamps can be bought from post offices, many small shops and hotel receptions. Normally Mail sent to Europe will arrive in about seven days.
Where to post letters
It is advisable to take mail to the post office or alternatively you can post in the yellow post boxes, but these are not frequently emptied. Many of the hotels in Northern Cyprus will post your mail if you leave it at reception.
Postman
There are now postal deliveries to some individual addresses but the most reliable method is to rent a post box (P.O. Box).
PO Addresses
This facility is available in Girne (Kyrenia), Lefkosa (Nicosia), Gazi Magusa (Famagusta), Güzelyurt (Morphou) and also in a few of the surrounding villages.
